Introduction
This privacy policy covers the use of the Know-It-All Android app (the "app" or "application"), developed by FirstResponderApps.com.au ("we," "our," or "us") and available in the Google Play store. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our application and when you visit our website, https://knowitall.firstresponderapps.com.au, and purchase our subscription services.
Non subscription Use
For non-subscription use of Know-It-All, we not gather or store any information from the application. Your data is all yours, and we don't collect any statistics or information regarding you or your use of the app.
Subscription Use
We provide the ability for subscribers to purchase subscriptions, upload PDFs and share those PDFs with selected beneficiaries.
Where one or more subscriptions are purchased, FirstResponderApps.com.au only collects the information necessary to provide the subscriber and their chosen beneficiaries with access to the PDFs that are uploaded to the subscription server, to perform automated billing of subscription renewals, and to meet our regulatory and accounting requirements. We do not provide this information to any third party. This consists of:
- Google account email addresses for the subscriber and beneficiaries, which used to (a) distinguish accounts, (b) automatically add beneficiaries to a subscription according to subscriber provided patterns, (c) provide subscribers with the ability to check that the list of beneficiaries of a subscription are as expected and (d) provide us with the assistance in diagnosing issues;
- Partial credit card information. Credit card information is handled in the most secure and PCI-DSS compliant manner, only being transmitted between your browser and our payment processor's computers. In keeping with best practices, a portion of credit card and expiry dates are provided by the payment processor and stored on our servers so that you can identify payment methods and expirations. Billing address and payment amounts are also retained as part of our regulatory compliance.
- Usage data: We record information regarding how you interact with our website and logs of interaction between the app and the website for debugging and performance monitoring purposes.
How we use your information
Information record by us will only be used for regulatory compliance, debugging, performance monitoring and provision of support. It will not be shared with third parties apart from in the case of our payment processor, and then only to process renewals of subscriptions or to diagnose issues and provide support.
We do not currently conduct any type of direct marketing; we do not have a mailing list of subscribers and will not contact you unless you first contact us for support.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect our rights.
Data Retention
We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in this policy, manage your active subscription, and comply with legal, tax, or accounting requirements.
Your Data Rights
Depending on your location (e.g., under the GDPR in Europe or the Privacy Act in Australia), you have specific rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to:
- Access, update, or delete the personal information we have on you.
- Object to or restrict the processing of your data.
- Withdraw your consent at any time (which will result in the termination of your subscription or access to subscriptions as a beneficiary).
